I live in D.C. and I love to travel. I grew up in Darjeeling (yes, it is really a place) and lived in Delhi for 10 years before I packed my bags to go to grad school in the U.S. in 2009. Until a short while ago, I thought of myself as a nomad willing to pack my bags anytime, and move to a new place. Not anymore. The thought is still tempting sometimes, and I still love to travel and go to new places. I love to take photos, and I got my first DSLR in 2012 (technically Christmas ’11). Editing photos, not so much.
A Francophile who does not speak French (not for want of trying), I love all most things French. However, after a summer living in Rome, I love Italy more. Of course, I still think India is the most beautiful country, because it has so much to offer. Biased, me? I like making to-do lists on any occasion as it gives me a great sense of accomplishment to have checked off all the items on the list. However, I don’t have any qualms about carrying over unfinished items to another to-do list, either.
I love reading, and though my favourite genre is post-colonial literature, I started with Time’s top 100 novels (1993-2005) as part of my original to-do list and am enjoying the mostly Western-dominated literature.
I also love food, and trying out new food. I am not a very adventurous eater though, so no snake soup for me please. D.C. is crazy about brunches and now I’ve started loving them too! I’ve tried rather unsuccessfully to capture award-winning photos of food on camera with no luck. Hence, you will hardly find any on this blog. I hope to keep trying though.
I would love to hear from you. Do drop in your comments or mail me at bahugunaaroha at gmail dot com.
